Position Overview:

MIT xPRO is seeking a Business Development Representative to join our rapidly growing team. Our vision is to educate the global workforce on disruptive technologies and leadership development. This role is newly created and critical as it requires prospecting and qualifying conversations with our prospects, learning about their businesses, and advancing the sales process along the sales continuum to close.

 

Principal Duties and Responsibilities (Essential Functions):

1) Uncover new business opportunities within global organizations by identifying key decision-makers and collaborating with them to craft compelling xPRO solutions.

2) Nurture and expand a database of B2B prospects in partnership with Account Executives to ensure a steady stream of deals entering the sales pipeline.

3) Enhance existing customer relationships while attracting new ones through strategic land-and-expand initiatives, maximizing the value of our offerings.

4) Source and qualify new sales opportunities using a multi-pronged approach, encompassing inbound lead follow-up, outbound prospecting via cold calling, emailing, marketing campaigns, and social selling, as well as responding promptly to inquiries generated through our website, social media, and other channels.

5) Possess a deep understanding of customer needs and requirements, ensuring prospective clients are qualified and seamlessly integrated into MIT xPRO's sales funnel within Salesforce. 

6) Maintain comprehensive product knowledge to communicate the value of xPRO's offerings effectively.

7) Collaborate closely with Account Executives, Sr. Director, xPRO sales and the marketing team to build robust sales pipelines, close deals, and continuously refine our processes.

8) Participate in industry conferences, meetings, and events to expand our network and generate new business leads.

Develop compelling quotes and proposals tailored to the specific needs of each client.

9) Consistently exceed predetermined sales targets, demonstrating a steadfast commitment to achieving organizational goals.

10) Embrace continuous learning through weekly training sessions, enhancing sales skills, and maintaining in-depth product knowledge.

 

Supervision Received:

Supervision is provided by Sr. Director, xPRO Sales though the position requires the ability to perform with minimal supervision.

 

Supervision Exercised:

No direct reports. 

 

Qualifications & Skills: 

MINIMUM REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

Education/Experience: Bachelor’s degree and 3 years of relevant experience or high school diploma (or equivalent) and 7 years of experience.

Skills: 

  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills; 

  • Strong listening and presentation skills;

  • Proven inside sales experience;

  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and manage time efficiently;

  • Goal-oriented; 

  • Proven ability to initiate and develop strong professional relationships with senior business leaders; 

  • Proven ability to deliver services and support to large businesses and/or governments; 

  • Proven ability to work independently in an unstructured, startup environment.

PREFERRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

Required education: BA/BS degree or equivalent. Preferred: Masters Degree or MBA.

Preferred experience: Five years of relevant experience or equivalent.

 

Salary range: $80,000 - $90,000.  The final salary will be determined by MIT’s compensation team based on the skills and experience of the selected candidate.
